Jennifer Sullivan
Performance

Jennifer Sullivan Avant-Garde Glamour Studio, 2009, NADA County Affair, Brooklyn, NY
I performed free avant-garde make-overs for those looking to update their look. A before and after photo was taken of each participant.

Fall Collection, 2009, NY Art Book Fair, PS1 Contemporary Art Center, Queens, NY
Fall Collection was a fashion show performance featuring a variety of other artists and designers modeling their creations while I acted as Master of Ceremonies, describing each model/artist's look while they walked the hallway of the museum, which was used as a fashion runway. The performance becomes like a live action group show. Photographer Dan Perrone documented the models as they showed off their work, and DJ Andrew Steinmetz provided musical accompaniment.

Recession Runway, 2009, NADA Emerging Artists Party @ Bumble & Bumble Salon, New York, NY
Recession Runway was a site-specific fashion show created for the NADA Emerging Artist Party at Bumble & Bumble. The performance featured other artists and designers modeling their own recession inspired wearable creations while I acted as Master of Ceremonies, mimicking the tropes of an amateur fashion show and describing each model/artist's look. Fashion photographer Pete Deevakul documented the models as they posed at the end of the runway, and DJ Annie Pearlman provided musical accompaniment and attitudinal inspiration.

It's A Process: Episode 3 - Ladies Night Live, 2009
In Episode 3 of It's a Process, I invite special guest artists Brina Thurston and Rachel Mason to help me celebrate Women's History Month in a panel discussion format inspired by "The View". In addition to our discussion, I do some cathartic karaoke, show video clips, invite questions from the audience, and give a live Mudslide drink making demo.

Kate Bush Dance Troupe (Founded in 2008)
The Kate Bush Dance Troupe is an ongoing collaborative ensemble of non-dancers (Samara Davis, Erica Magrey, Cassie Thornton, Kate Scherer, Renata Espinosa and Jennifer Sullivan) who create dance performances inspired by the music and emotive movement stylings of Kate Bush.

Exotic Dancer/Artist in Residence, Summer 2008, Eve's Garden, New York, NY
As an experiment in both employment and performance art, I worked as a dancer at a lesbian strip club in Chelsea until it closed down while I was away at an artist's residency in Michigan. It was a very interesting experience; a powerful lesson in the theatrics of intimacy.

It's A Process: Pilot episodes 1 and 2, 2008
It's a Process is an ongoing talk and variety program about art, of which I am both host and producer. The first episodes took place at Raid Projects in Los Angeles, CA and featured special guest appearances by Aaron Garber-Maikovska, Naomi Buckley, Julie Lequin, Kate Wolf and Brian Kennon.
