I LOVE this movie.
I love the characters and the compassion.
I love how the mom and kids call each other "banana" at the end.
I love the spaghetti breakfast scene and how Mabel defends herself to Nick after all the men have left.
How she says "I love those guys. I love 'em. I love anybody you bring in the house, Nick."

 


This movie blew my mind. It's my new favorite movie.
The scene where Florence is talking about her husband and asks Chet to kiss her is so moving and beautifully acted.
I am totally obsessed with John Cassavetes lately...

 


I saw a guy on the subway wearing an Opening Night t-shirt over the summer. I happened to be reading Cassavetes on Cassavetes at the time and was kind of like woah,
and he noticed me staring at him. I held up my book so he could see what I was reading and we
shared a nice Cassavetes lovin' moment with one another.
